- Approval: ALL students need project pre-approval from their teacher BEFORE starting the research and project. Click Here for Research Plan and Safety Guidelines.
- Allow yourself 2 to 3 months before the Fair to begin your research.
- Decide on a project. See Getting Started.
- Hypothesis: If you choose to do an experiment, write your hypothesis.
- Finish: Complete your project, logbook, and quad chart. Make sure you have filled out and obtained the required signatures on your Safety Form!
- UPLOAD: Upload your project documents. Limit the project presenation and logbook to 10 pages each.

Qualifying Fair |
Check with your teacher to find out the date of your qualifying Fair (your school, district or other qualifying fair) in which you will participate in order to qualify for The Academy of Science - St. Louis Science Fair. Top students proceed to The Academy of Science - St. Louis Science Fair, (e-fair for 2025). Schools may have their own method of selecting students who will upload their projects to compete in the Academy's regional Science Fair.

Your school will let you know if you qualify to submit your project to The Academy of Science - St. Louis Science Fair. REGISTER YOUR PROJECT FOR THE FAIR BY noon on Monday, April 14, 2025 (at the latest). Your teacher will give you a school student password. You'll then go to the Student Project Registration under Quick Links on the Home Page to register.

When You're Ready,Upload Your Project Documents

Upload the following 4 files and add your sequence number to the front page of 1) your presentation, 2) logbook, 3) safety form, and 4) quad chart. Do not list your name (except for on the safety form) or show the faces of people in your project. DEADLINE TO UPLOAD ALL FILES IS: noon on Mon, April 14, 2025.
- Safety Form— Click Here for Safety Form. ALL projects need this form. It is worth 10 points.

Presentation— either a PowerPoint (limit to 10 pages), or photos of your poster (limit to 10 photos). All projects will be submitted as efair projects; however, if you would like to construct a traditional science fair poster, you can take photos of the poster for upload. Do not list your name or show photos of faces of people in your project.

Logbook (limit to 10 pages). Start your logbook and write in it every time you work on your project. (It's okay to type in a Word document.) See Your Logbook. You may want to consider keeping your logbook in a Word document on your computer. Do not list your name or show photos of faces of people in your project.
NOTE: FOR RESEARCH LITERATURE REVIEW DIVISION, YOU WILL UPLOAD JUST 3 FILES (YOUR RESEARCH REVIEW PAPER, SIGNED SAFETY FORM, AND QUAD CHART). PLEASE ALSO NOTE: RESEARCH LITERATURE REVIEWS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ENTRY IN THE HONORS DIVISION FAIR, AND ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR COMPETITION IN THE REGENERON INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING FAIR. - Quad Chart to showcase your project, or if Research Literature Review, to showcase your research findings.

Ribbon certificates will be emailed to the email address the student used in registering their project. Any additional awards will be mailed, or emailed, to the mailing address the student used when registering their project.
